At Fortitude Equip, we offer complete turnkey gym solutions – from concept to completion. We’re proud to have partnered with Life Leisure Avondale on their recent facility refurbishment – a project that’s a true reflection of innovation, efficiency, and purposeful design. This was a classic 1970s leisure centre layout, with areas of poorly utilised and disconnected space. Our job? To reimagine and transform it into something functional, modern, and aligned with Life Leisure’s forward-thinking ethos. From the very beginning, Fortitude Equip was hands-on. We supported the project at every stage – from updated architectural drawings and design concepts, right through to the full build, internal decoration, flooring, and electrical works. We removed existing structural walls and reconfigured the layout, creating what would become a brand-new Innerva Suite – an inclusive, modern training space that keeps Life Leisure at the forefront of innovation and true to their mission: ‘Live Well, Live Life’. To maximise usability, we repositioned external fire doors and installed new windows to bring light and a fresh modern feel into the new gym space. Every detail was considered. We also supported Matrix Fitness UK in the installation of their strength equipment – ensuring a seamless and coordinated setup from start to finish. The result? A high-spec, fully transformed facility, delivered in under three weeks – on time, on budget, and to the highest possible standard. This project stands as a perfect example of how Fortitude Equip brings visions to life – creating impactful spaces that serve the needs of both operators and communities.

Concept to Reality 💥 From vision to installation — the new functional training rig is now live at Derby College. Designed to support the Public Services course, this bespoke rig was created to maximise performance in a space-efficient and budget-conscious way. Working closely with the college, we developed a tailored solution that fits the training methodology and future-proofs the space for evolving needs. Crowne Plaza Chester 💪 Reactive call-out following subfloor failure that posed a potential trip hazard. Our team responded quickly to repair and overboard the damaged area with 18mm timber for improved strength and stability. We then supplied and installed 20mm premium EPDM-topped gym flooring tiles, designed for both durability and aesthetic appeal. The new surface now offers improved protection for strength and functional training, while its acoustic properties make it ideally suited to a busy health club environment. The transformation has completely refreshed the look and usability of the space — bringing tired flooring back to life with a clean, professional finish.
